Buccaneer Heroes
Major Update
We are proud to announce a MAJOR update to Buccaneer Heroes. Version 0.2 includes a multitude of gameplay, content and graphical improvements. Below is a list of all changes.
Captain's Log map changes
- Added 6 "Mystic Sites" tiles to the Captain's Log map, numbered from I to VI (with palm trees). The sites give a variety of special abilities, like time freeze, the ability to teleport other players, etc.
- Added 2 more Legendary Pirate tiles on the Captain's Log map.
- Added Silver Train graphics to Porto Bello (settlement 18). Silver Train Intel is needed to attack the city for the Silver Train to be in town. When the city is plundered after generating 22 AP or more during this unique occasion, the player receives the awards shown on the map: 30 Gold, 4 Relic pieces, 3 Reputation points (divided by the amount of help). The Silver Train is again getting the respect it's due in pirate games!
- A few other minor esthetic changes.
Major Achievements sheet modifications
- Added visual improvements to the Achievements sheet.
- Changed all Loot graphics.
- Restructured the various achievement categories in a more logical way.
- Changed Targets category to Nations.
- Pirates are now "Privateers" that belong to one of the 6 "Nation" factions.
- Moved Settlement/Port achievements to the new "Nations" section, alongside "Merchants" and "Privateers". Now settlements belong to one of the 6 nations (factions). When attacking settlements, players must check the box that corresponds to the chosen faction die.
- Bonus +3 achievements are given when the same 3 numbers are checked in the Nations section (for example, Merchant #4, Privateer #4, Settlement #4). Everything else stays the same. You still additionally receive +3 achievements when all 6 Merchant, Privateer or Settlement numbers are checked. This now makes settlement attacks a pivotal element of the game, since Nation sets are easier to gain than full target sets (all Merchants for example).
- Reduced the amount of Gold needed in a row for an achievement to make it easier to gain Gold achievements.
- Added the option to also recruit Crew upgrades with Crowns, as well as Gold (specialists can be pirates, after all).
- Moved the Jolly Roger that signals PvP attack immunity to the Ship area, next to Endurance.
- Changed all Legends flag icons.
- Added a new Relic: Olokun's Fan. It lets the player reroll the Wind die (wind direction) at the beginning of a season. The new wind direction only affects the player who rerolled wind.
- Removed Master Coin requirement for Pirate Den Reputation Party (big parties can be done anywhere pirates are welcome).
- Added 3 new Pirate Den services for players with the Master coin: Settlement Intel (lets players roll 1-3 dice to determine which settlement will be automatically plundered when visited); Silver Train Intel (players mark city 18, Porto Bello, for a massive payout when plundered); Mystic Sites Intel (lets players roll one die and to determine the location of a secret site with unique rewards).
- Changed Reputation Attack Bonuses and Achievement rules. Reputation brackets are gone. Now each acquired Reputation immediately gives an additional Attack Point, but two Reputations in a column are needed to give an achievement.
- When all 4 Reputation achievements are checked, the player receives the option to reroll any round dice roll once. The new numbers have to be played.
- Increased the amount of Cannon and Pirate Attack Points to 4 each, for a total of 10 possible Attack Points from attack alone (not including dice roll). Together with the Reputation bonuses, players can have a maximum of 18 Attack Base, like previously.
- Changed the overall layout of Reputation and Attack (including the initial +2 attack base) to make it easier to count Attack Points.
- Changed the icons that shows a target requires combat to a "cannon" instead of "sword".
- Reduced the price of all Ship and Specialist upgrades.
Other changes
- Greatly improved both guides - Game Rules and Detailed Game Rules - making various elements clearer, and added as many visuals and examples as possible.
- Tweaked the rules of many events (too many to count), both in the Global Events and Chance events. Mystic Sites are mainly available in Chance Events. Sirens were made the clear "bad guys" in the game.
- Added new entries to the Glossary, which are now covered in the game: Fountain of Youth, Golden Hind, Olokun's Fan.
- Changed the general esthetics of all documents, including additional or improved images.
Again, the game is still in production, so feedback is GREATLY appreciated. We love the donations. Thank you all for your contributions, but feedback is more valuable to us at this point.
